Water

Water plays an important role in many legends and myths. There are mythological water beings and gods, stories of heroes that have something to do with water, and even stories of isles and continents lost below the surface.

The waterway has been the human transport route since the Stone Age, and its importance is invaluable in all cultures and eras, the oldest organized civilizations were river cultures.

Thematically, the texts will describe the globe’s gloom over global warming and lack of environmental protection, the world’s widespread corruption and the difference treatment of the earth’s population.

The significance of the waterway as a traffic artery for us humans is part of the thematic background for Waterways and water as an element is also part of the concept of the album.

Whatever is fluid,
soft, and yielding
will overcome whatever
is rigid and hard.
What is soft is strong.

Waterways

Panta rhei.
The human being as a species began its development as an amoeba in the sea.
Then we crawled up on land, or maybe flushed up by a wave?

Before we are born, we are lying in the womb of our mother, floating around in amniotic. Our life starts in fluid. Then we enter the world, the water planet. As newborn we are of eight tenths of water. The globe’s surface is three-fourths of water and water is the most important element of all life on Earth.

Water has been the pathway for human transport and migration since the Stone Age, and its significance is invaluable in all cultures and eras. Water moves across national borders, belives and continents, across time and history. The big oceans both keep us apart and connect us.

Today the sources of clean drinking water are diminishing and half of the world’s population lives in areas which are subject to water shortages.

Environmental consern of climate change and sea level rise, drought and flooding is part of the circumstanses in wich we now find ourself. What forces are sustaining them, and what forces are available to us to change them? Water is life. We are water.

Breaking the silence
Of an ancient pond,
A frog jumped into water –
A deep resonance.

Matsuo Basho
